Remembering What We’ve Forgotten

We are not separate. We are the same breath, flowing through different forms.

Spirit moves through breath, yet we seem to have forgotten how to listen. We are conditioned to see ourselves as isolated bodies, confined to flesh, defined by name and form. But beneath the illusion of separation, something ancient and infinite flows — one breath, one current, one force weaving through all living things. The breath in your lungs at this very moment has traveled through countless beings before you. It has moved through trees, through oceans, through ancestors whose names are long forgotten, yet whose essence remains. It carries memory, energy, and life itself, constantly shifting, yet always the same.

Before thought, before identity, there is breath. A silent rhythm connecting everything, unbroken, timeless. Look into the eyes of a newborn, and you will find it — the raw presence, an unfiltered sense of knowing, the silent awareness that has yet to become buried beneath conditioning. They do not need to be taught who they are; they simply are. But as the world intrudes, as distractions multiply, as layers of illusion build up, the knowing is slowly lost. Not yet erased — just buried and waiting to be remembered.

To awaken is not to acquire knowledge, but to strip away that constant penetrating noise that obscures the truth. It is to return to the breath, to feel it not as a function of the body, but as the thread that links all existence. With every inhale being creation, every exhale is surrender. In this cycle, there is no division — only the flow of movement. The same force that animates you animates the trees, the wind, the animals, the stars. The boundaries we cling to — between self and other, between now and eternity — are nothing more than shadows cast by a mind trapped in forgetting.

Separation is the greatest lie, and remembering is the greatest liberation. When you dissolve the illusion, the walls between “you” and “the world” break away. What once seemed outside of you is suddenly recognized as deep within. What you once feared, what you once resisted, is revealed as an innate part of you. You are not an island. You are not a fragment. You are the breath of life itself, flowing through a temporary vessel, experiencing existence for a fleeting moment before moving on.

And, when this breath leaves your body, it does not simply vanish. It drifts on, shifting, transforming, finding a new form, a new expression. You have never been separate or alone. You are, and always have been, the same breath, cycling endlessly, remembering itself through every inhale, through every exhale, through every being that has ever lived and ever will.
